Cuboid is a three-dimensional shape with a length, width, and a height, it is more or less cubic in shape.

**Cuboid** has 6 faces, 12 edges and 8 vertices. Any face of the cuboid is called its **base**. Each face of a **cuboid** is a rectangle, and all of a **cuboid’s vertices** are 90-degree angles. Thus, a **cuboid** has the shape of a **rectangular box.**

**Surface area of Cuboids:**

There are six faces in cuboid. All the faces are in rectangular shape. The sum of the areas of all the six surfaces is called the **total surface area** of the cuboid.

The four face which meet the base are called the **lateral faces of a cuboid. **

Lateral Surface area of cuboid = 2h(l + b)

Total surface area of cuboid = 2(lb +bh + lh)

Here h – height ; l – length; b – breadth.

**Volume of cuboids:**

Volume of cuboid = area of base x height;

where area of base = l x b, here l = length, b = breadth
