**Find HCF and LCM of the following**

**(i) 9x**^{2}**y**^{2}**z**^{3 }**and 15x**^{3}**y**^{2}**z**^{4}

Solution:

HCF = 3x^{2}y^{2}z^{3}

LCM = 45x^{3}y^{2}z^{4}

**(ii) 8x**^{4}**a**^{2}**and 48x**^{3}**b**^{2}

Solution:

8x^{4}a^{2} = 2^{3} x^{4} a^{2}

48x^{3}b^{2} = 2^{4} x 3x^{3} b^{2}

HCF = 8x^{2}

LCM = 48x^{4} a^{2} b^{4}

**(iii) 240 and 64x**^{8}

Solution:

240 = 2^{2} x 3 x 5

64x^{8} = 2^{6} x x^{8 }

HCF = 2^{4} = 16

LCM = 2^{6} x 3 x 5 x x^{8} = 960x^{8}

**(iv) 2009b****2****y****5 ****and 44 b**^{4}**y**^{3 }

Solution:

2009b2y5 = 7 x 41 x b²y5

44 b^{4}y^{3} = 2^{2} x 11b^{4}y^{3}

HCF = 2^{4} = b^{2}y^{3}

LCM = 2009 x 44 x b^{4}y^{5}

= **88396 b**^{4}**y**^{5}

**Find HCF and LCM of the following:**

**(i) p**^{5}**, p**^{11}**, p**^{7}

Solution:

LCM = p^{5 }

HCF = p^{11}

**(ii) 10 a**^{2}**b**^{2}**c**^{2}**, 15ab**^{2}**c**^{3}**, 20b**^{3}**c**^{2}

Solution:

10 a^{2}b^{2}c^{2} = 2 x 5a^{2}b^{2}c^{2}

15 ab^{2}c^{3} = 3 x 5 ab^{2}c^{3}

20 b^{3}c^{2} = 2^{2} x 5 b^{3}c^{2}

LCM = 5 b^{2}c^{2}

HCF = 2^{2} x 5 x 3 a^{2}b^{3}c^{3}

**= 60 a**^{2}**b**^{3}**c**^{3}

**(iii) 4x**^{3}**, y**^{3}**, z**^{3}

Solution:

LCM = 1

HCF = 4x^{3}y^{3}z^{3}

**(iv) 24a**^{5}**b**^{5}**c**^{4}**, 30a**^{3}**b**^{4}**c**^{3}**, 36a**^{2}**b**^{3}**c**^{5}

Solution:

24 a^{5}b^{5}c^{4} = 2^{3} x 3 a^{5}b^{5}c^{4}

30 a^{3}b^{4}c^{3} = 2 x 3 x 5 a^{3}b^{4}c^{3}

36 a^{2}b^{3}c^{5} = 2^{2} x 3^{2} a^{2}b^{3}c^{5}

LCM = 2 x 3a^{2}b^{3}c^{3}

= 6 a^{2}b^{3}c^{3}

HCF = 2^{2} x 3^{2} x 5 a^{5}b^{5}c^{5}

= 360 a^{5}b^{5}c^{5}
