- The height of a square based pyramid is 33 cm. if the base is 27 cm. find the volume.
Solution:
Volume of pyramid = 1/3 Bh = 1/3 x a2 x h
= 1/3 x 27 x 27 x 33
= 9 x 27 x 33
= 8019 cc
- If the area of base of a rectangular based pyramid is 60 m2 and its ht is 7.5m. find the volume.
Solution:
A of base = 60m2
h = 7.5 m
V = 1/3 Bh = 1/3 x 60 x 7.5
= 150 cc
- The height of a square pyramid of vol. 300 cc. is 10 cm. find the edge of the base.
Solution:
h = 10 cm
V = 300 cc
a = ?
V = 1/3 Bh = 1/3 a2h
300 = 1/3 x a2 x h
300×3/10 = a2
a2 = 90
a = √90 = 3√10 cm
